The VCAL students supported by Ms. Fraser’s Year 3 and 4 class harvested our vineyard on Thursday, February 18 in brilliant sunny weather. The secondary and primary students buddied up and spent a couple of hours picking our Sauvignon Blanc grapes and by the end of the session almost completely filled our large bin. We suspect that we picked more than last year but this is unconfirmed.
The grapes were then transported to Ringer Reef where they will be crushed, blended with a selection of grapes from Ringer Reef and then bottled in the near future to become the 2016 Vintage.
Many thanks go to all the students for their fantastic work ethic in the vineyard.
Special thanks go to Michelle Kusch who gave up her time to assist in the picking and to Graham Barker for his loan of a vehicle to transport the valuable harvest to Ringer Reef.
